Miami based fine artist, Helene M. Weiss is a prolific painter gifted with the range, instinct, style and technique afforded only arts great masters. Ms. Weiss, now 70 has amassed a portfolio of art sixty-two years in the making, an extensive collection of original paintings born of feeling, emotion and the complexities of everyday life. Original works include figurative, abstract, still life and pencil drawings, each a masterpiece from conception defined by color, form and a fluidity that is not literal, not clever, rather relatable and profound.

Helene Weiss has literally been painting all her life. In grade school, her art instructor at the Center Academy in Brooklyn and his then colleague, aspiring artist Mark Rothko took notice of Helene's natural gift, urging the Weiss family to nurture and encourage the blossoming abilities of a then seven-year-old Helene.
Attending Boston University’s School of Fine & Applied Arts Helene received a scholarship to study at the Brooklyn Museum of Art where her work received top honors in the Museum’s “Fence Art Show.” Helene was later awarded a fellowship to the world renowned, Provincetown Workshop, a host to premiere artists from around the world and the place she would meet personal mentors, famed artists Robert Motherwell and Helen Frankenthaler.
Helene Weiss|ART has been exhibited in galleries across the country and throughout her native New York, including The National Arts Gallery, Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Museum of Art and The Cloisters, Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her work, recognized by the National Association of Women Artits (NAWA) and recipient of the Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation Award, is blessed with an international following and thanks to Art Basel and the print media, most notably, the acclaimed book published in 2007, “Miami Contemporary Artists”, which named Helene as one of the “key artists who have played a role in bringing the cultural evolution of Miami to fruition” that following continues to grow.
